Visiting Cuba and speaking with the locals of Havana I learnt after the Cuban revolution and the falling of the Soviet Union, people needed to cooperate and rely on each other in order to survive. It was so different from any place I had traveled before because it felt so untouched by globalization. Instead of being focused on oneself they were focused on helping each other. Although it does have its challenges, as any other country, Cuba has worked hard to erase illiteracy from the country, provide free healthcare and free education that extends to higher education past a high school diploma, such as a university education. This project was an attempt to capture the beauty of the Cuban people.
